Cloud-Based License Servers for RLM

RLM Cloud is an easy-to-use, cloud-based solution for hosting your customer’s RLM license servers. RLM Cloud is 100% hosted by Reprise. It allows you to provision and manage customers’ license servers, and install and manage their licenses, all from your browser without installing license server software on your customer’s systems. RLM Cloud provides everything you need to issue licenses and serve them for your customers. Your customer never needs to install or manage a license server when you use RLM Cloud. They install your application, add the licenses, and are ready to run. And unlike other License Managers, you can do all of this without changing the RLM API calls that are already in your application.

Compatible With Your Application

RLM Cloud is 100% compatible with your RLM-licensed application Re-link your application with RLM v12.0 or later, and you are ready to go. Unlike other license managers, there is no separate API to use the RLM Cloud

On-Premises or in the Cloud

RLM Cloud or On-Premises

Mix and match deployment as the situation dictates. Since we use standard RLM license servers, you can make the decision to deploy license servers in the RLM Cloud or on-premises, on a customer-by-customer basis. Or do all your evaluations using RLM Cloud and deploy all products on-premises, or any combination. When we say, “Policy in the License”, we mean it. The only change you make to use RLM Cloud is in the license file, using a CUSTOMER line in place of SERVER and HOST lines from an on-premises license file.

No more Rehosting and Decommissioning Servers

There is never a need to re-provision a license server. Since you are in complete control of the license servers, all the old issues arising from machine hostids are now a thing of the past. You no longer need to worry about issuing a new set of licenses to a customer because their license server machine went down.

Increase Customer Satisfaction

No server setup, configuration, or management for your customer – this is all done in the RLM Cloud for them. In addition, they don’t need to upgrade license servers or install licenses. Once you provide them with a license in the RLM Cloud, they are ready to use it—immediate up-time.

Customer Portal

RLM Cloud includes a customer portal so that your customers have visibility into their license servers. A subset of the functionality in the built-in on-premises RLM web interface, this portal allows your customers to view current license server status as well as users of licenses, view and download server log files, and edit license server options.

How RLM Cloud Works

  1. Setup: define the types of licenses to be delivered to your customers, typically trial, permanent node-locked, and permanent floating. (If you are familiar with RLM Activation Pro, this setup process is nearly identical.)
  2. Upon purchase, add the customer to your RLM Cloud database, and provision a license server for them.
  3. Create the licenses your customer purchased.
  4. Push the licenses to the server machine in the RLM Cloud and tell the server to reread the licenses. The server is now ready for your customer to use.
  5. Using the RLM Cloud dashboard, you can see the status of all your customer’s servers in one place.
